The BMC_LogicalEntity class is an abstract base class used for all of the components in a system that represent logical system components. BMC_LogicalEntity corresponds to the DMTF CIM_LogicalElement class. For example, a logical entity might be Payroll Processes or North American Sales. These CI types are used to define accounts, business processes, databases, and so on. Abstract classes cannot hold any instances, instead, subclasses are used, such as BMC_Activity and BMC_BusinessService, to represent particular types of logical entities in your IT environment (for example, Service Model components).
